• Almost time for the "Kid Exchange". Hope we get some good ones. :P #

We had a Kid’s Day at Dave’s coworker’s house. It was pretty good. Besides hanging out with the family, I’ve never done something like that before. At least, not that I can remember. It wasn’t a party or anything, or a kid exchange like my title suggested, just a few parents getting their kids together to play. An added bonus would be if the parents got to hang out and play while the kids were distracted. With supervision, for the kids and not the parents, of course.

Quick note: Kid Exchange was what Dave’s other coworker, who doesn’t have kids, called it and not what the rest of us did. Dave called it Kevin’s Korner just because it was at Kevin’s house. So I guess the other guy never heard of play dates and whatnot.

We came with the oldest and youngest of the bunch. There were two others. Cute little boys at 18 and 27 months old. The menu was mac&cheese, pb&j sandwiches, cookies and juice. They played a while, then we all ate, then they played some more. Dave and I even got into it and started putting pop-up baskets on our heads. I even had a few kids jumping all over me at one point.

Dave’s coworker and his fiance seem really cool. They are a bit younger than us, but that never stopped us before. As long as we get along, age ain’t nothin’ but a number. I’m just hoping that our parenting styles, though quite similar, don’t end up clashing. What I want to know is, now that I’m thinking about it, how did WE get to be the oldest people in the group?
